WHO WE ARE
We are you. We are our communities. We're young and old,
black or white, Hispanic and Hindi too. We're just like our community - because
it is the members of the community that make up our board, staff and volunteers.
A Brief History of the High Point-Thomasville Chapter
The High Point Chapter was founded in 1917, as was the Thomasville
Chapter. In 1970, the two units merged. Our jurisdiction
includes High Point, Thomasville, Archdale, Trinity, and Jamestown.
The chapter currently serves a population of 134,000.
For more
than 30 years, the chapter was located in an old house at
2011English Road in High Point. In 1995, the chapter began a
capital campaign to fund a new chapter facility. Two years
later, the chapter moved into the current location at 815 Phillips
Avenue. The facility has been dedicated to the memory of Linda
Burrow Oxford, daughter of Ray Burrow. The facility is now
known as the Burrow Service Center.

We are the
Board of Directors, made up of a cross-section of our community's leaders, who
guide the chapter in a governance role. As a volunteer-led organization,
our Chapter Chairman Doug Burrow is the head of your American Red Cross Chapter. We
are a dedicated staff, responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of
the chapter. Led by our Executive Director, Robert Ziegler,
the staff help guide and provide services, as
well as support our chapter volunteers, as we reach into the community with Red
Cross services.
For more information about the administration of the chapter, visit our
Administration and Finance Department.
Here you can find out about our budgeting process and our fundraising efforts.
We are audited annually by an outside auditor for your protection and our own.

Most of all, we are our Volunteers. Without
these wonderful people, we could not deliver Red Cross services here and around
the world.
