On Tuesday, November 28th, area fire departments conducted a controlled burn of
a house on Penny Street in High Point. The fire departments used the burn
as an exercise to develop their fire attack skills. They would light the
fire, attack and knock it down. Then they would discuss their techniques
and do it all over again. Finally, after several cycles, they did a final
burn of the house, letting it go till the house was gutted.
The High Point-Thomasville Chapter Disaster Action Team was on the scene
providing canteen and support services to the fire and rescue units.
