The High
Point-Thomasville Chapter, American Red Cross, has been the
grateful recipient of two planned gifts since 2005.
The first
gift, a bequest from the estate of Mrs. Elizabeth Blair, saved
the chapter from a
lengthy period of shortfalls and established a climate of
successful fundraising that finally secured the financial
condition of the chapter.
The second
gift, a bequest from the estate of Edward and Roberta
Gawler, made possible the
replacement of aging equipment and the purchase of modern
technologies that will allow the chapter to perform at a high
level for years to come. The majority of the Gawler
bequest has been placed in secure reserves that will ensure the
financial safety of the chapter against some future economic
crisis.
Mrs. Elizabeth Blair and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gawler are the
first members of the Legacy Society at the High
Point-Thomasville Chapter.
The chapter has been named in at least one more bequest from
a Legacy Society member.. The patron requests anonymity at
this time.
